What is a Campus Legend?

Jackie Robinson was a four-sport star at UCLA, distinguishing him as one of the greatest athletes on record. But boy could Jackie fly, especially in track and field. In 1940, Jackie won the NCAA Championship long jump while at UCLA, soaring over 25 feet. If it weren’t for World War II cancelling the 1940 and 1944 games, Jackie would have been an Olympic star long before he broke the color barrier in baseball later that decade.
