Long before the world knew about Jackie Robinson, Jackie knew what it would take. As a four-sport athlete at UCLA from 1939-1941, he used his platform to challenge the unfair treatment of Black students. It was always in him to fight. And long before he broke baseball’s long-held color barrier to become the most significant athlete of our times, he fought for what was just, what was right, and what he believed in.

Equality. Respect. The passing down greatness.

For Jackie, it was important to not only be strong but to show the way. Robinson’s Hall of Fame credentials were but a small part of who he was. He lived for the fight. And the Jackie Robinson Foundation, which gives scholarships to minority youths so that they, too, can receive a higher education, was created to pass down the greatness.
