It opened in September of 1980. It was originally known as the Carrier Dome, but its nickname told the story of why it became one of the greatest home court advantages in sports: The Loud House. When opposing teams visited Syracuse, the roar of the crowd reached deafening levels. The place shook. Sound echoed off the inflated roof, and bounced off the playing surface with the boom of a thousand diesels.

The orchestrator of the madness as the years went on? None other than Otto, the beloved mascot of Syracuse. His message to the Syracuse faithful? Bring the Noise!
