The pride of the Panthers has become passed down ever since, a time-honored connection, from the days when Pop Warner roamed the sidelines to the 1930s when Jock Sutherland built Pitt into a national powerhouse, from the dominant 1976 national championship team to the present day, where the lineage of greatness is represented each time they hit the line of scrimmage.
