For two seasons in 1957 and 1958, he cast a shadow across the landscape of the game from his bird’s eye view at the University of Kansas. To see Wilt in person was to see history. When he first walked on the court as a freshman to scrimmage the varsity squad, over 14,000 people showed up to get a look. What did Wilt do? He hung 42 points on his upperclassman, snatched 29 rebounds, and sent eastern Kansas into a frenzy.
