GU - Allen Iverson Hoyas ‘96 Navy Snapback Hat

“I don’t wanna be Jordan, I don’t wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don’t want to be any of those guys. I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.”

It was at Georgetown that the nation got its first look at Allen Iverson. Barely 6-foot-tall, he revolutionized the spirit of what a basketball player could be. It was in the attitude. The heart. The determination. It was in the moves, the crossover, the first step. It was in the freelance ability, the body control, the ankles that he broke, the defenders left defending his shadow. When Iverson began to cook for real, the crowds gathered at Georgetown were early witnesses of all great to come.

From 1994-96, Iverson gave the game an infusion of endless possibility. That is, to be the best version of yourself, and let the game adapt!
