Diego Maradona Hand of God '86 White Tank
"Now I can say what I couldn’t at that moment, what I defined at the time as ‘The Hand of God.’ What hand of God? It was the hand of Diego!”
June 22, 1986. That was the day Diego Maradona wowed the world in a game against England in Mexico City. That’s when Maradona scored the most famous - as well as most controversial - goal of his storied career. It’s forever known as “The Hand of God,” and to this day is part of the game’s magical lore. “The goal was scored a little bit by the hand of God, a little by the head of Maradona,” he said afterward, thus giving it the name.
He went on to score the “Goal of the Century” a little later that same game, thus giving Argentina a 2-1 victory. This is the legend of Maradona! Summertime tank celebrating Argentina’s original GOAT.
