These were the natural tenets of Bruce Lee’s fighting system that, by 1967, was being practiced as Jeet Kune Do. It was that year that a young Bruce Lee returned to the Long Beach International Karate Championships to showcase the evolution of his methods, using Muhammad Ali-style footwork to illustrate the creation of distance, and showing the world — once again — the one-inch punch. It wouldn’t be the last time he’d drop jaws. From that moment on, the legend only grew. He is the godfather of martial arts.
