As far as game-changers go, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper stands alone. In the ring, Piper was a super star. Outside of it? Sublime. In a career that spanned 42 years, he was a virtuoso on the microphone unlike anyone (or anything) the world of pro wrestling had ever seen. A one-man show. A smash hit. His Piper’s Pit talk show became the stuff of legends, and his legendary motto at the time tells you everything you needed to know - “Just when they think they know the answers, I change the questions.”
That kind of impact is what shaped wrestling into what it became. Behind every great hero, there is a villain - and not all of them could rock a kilt like Roddy! As part of our “culture and influence” spotlight for the month of February, we have a new “Long Live Piper” sweater!
