Devin Booker calls him an icon. Karl Anthony Towns says he is “one of the most gifted offensive players I’ve ever seen.” And when Carmelo Anthony arrived in New York in 2011, he transformed the Big Apple as much as NYC transformed him. Everything was Melo. Madison Square Garden? It became his playground. They say that New York can isolate athletes. Not for Carmelo Anthony. He built a Hall of Fame career there and became one of NYC’s favourite sons.
Nobody could guard Melo. Everyone wanted to be as silky smooth as him.
