The “Thrilla in Manila” lives on through the ages, not just because it was the rubber match that became a pivot point to establish the greatest of all time, but because each dropped the other off at the doorstep of death. After the fight, Ali, his body not allowing him to sit up straight from the trauma Frazier inflicted on it, said as much.
“It was like death,” the champ said. “Closest thing to dyin’ that I know of.”
We wanted to give an authentic feel of the vibrant colors of the mid-1970s in Manila, and recreate a vintage tee that spoke to the era of boxing’s greatest fight!
