Smokin’ Joe Frazier was a Philly fighter, through and through. Hollywood knew what it was doing when it set the Rocky movies in this city that was home to one of the great heavyweight champions. Frazier's left hook sent thrills in some of the most memorable fights in boxing history. A statue of Smokin' Joe stands in South Philly, and the city also named a street in his honor. He is a legend in his adopted hometown, where after winning Olympic gold and the world heavyweight title, Frazier trained the next generation of Philly fighters.
