The iconic Redd Foxx was a Harlem nightclub comedian born in St. Louis who played the “Chitlin Circuit” coming up, but the place to be during the height of his career was the Redd Foxx Club in Los Angeles. Throwback to that glorious time in the 1960s when Foxx commanded the stage.
As it said in the matchbooks that sat in the ashtrays at the Redd Foxx Club, “Los Angeles’ first house of comedy and song is owned by one of America’s leading comics…Redd Foxx.
