What makes a legend? On February 25, 1964, a brash young 22-year-old from Kentucky went down to Miami, Florida to take on heavyweight champ Sonny Liston as an 8-to-1 underdog. He was called the “Louisville Lip,” and nobody knew what to make of Cassius Clay. Already a gold medal winner four years earlier, perhaps the most noteworthy thing about the challenger was that he could talk. He told the world he was going to win. The world didn’t believe him.

Until he did. He shook up the world. That’s what makes a legend.
