Ruth and company barnstormed across the country for 18 exhibition games, spreading goodwill and good memories. As the most iconic figure in baseball history, Ruth was celebrated as a hero at each port, as thousands chanted each time he stepped up to the plate: “Beibu Rusu! Beibu Rusu!”
